Meet the part that protects.
In my silence practice today, I discovered that resistance to surrender may not mean I am unwilling to trust God. It may mean a part of me is still trying to protect something important—your safety, dignity, voice, responsibilities, or the people you love.
Today, Annetta will not force that part to surrender. I choose instead to listen to her.

Let your hands rest open or place one hand where your body feels guarded.
Notice:
Where am I gripping, bracing, or holding?
What does my inner critic say will happen if I loosen my control?
What is the emotional energy beneath those words?
What is this part of me attempting to protect?
Does she need correction—or reassurance that surrender will not erase her?
Your body may not be asking you to stop caring. It may be asking you to stop carrying everything alone.
Pause
Take three gentle breaths:
Inhale: Spirit of God…
Exhale: Meet me here.
Rest: I do not have to force release.
Pray:
Abba Father, meet me in the place that is afraid to surrender. Help me understand what I have been protecting without judging myself for needing protection. Show me what belongs in my hands, what belongs in Yours, and what can be released without abandoning myself. Amen.

Speak compassionately to the protecting part:
I see how hard you have worked to keep me safe.
Your fear deserves understanding, but it does not have to lead.
Surrender does not mean losing my voice, wisdom, or dignity.
I can loosen my grip without abandoning myself.
God can hold what I was never meant to carry alone.
Record
